Job Summary
Coordinate primary care referrals to specialty services, diagnostic testing, and outpatient sites while obtaining necessary insurance authorizations. Act as a patient liaison to assess NVHC services, maintain constant communication regarding referral status, and assist patients with insurance, financial, or social issues. Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders, complete patient documentation in electronic medical records, and accurately maintain referral network contact information. Alert team members on ways to improve customer service and patient flow. Attend required meetings and participate in committees as requested.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 1 year medical office experience
- Strong communication skills including written and verbal communication
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree preferred
- English/Spanish fluency
- 1 year experience with insurance carriers, prior authorizations, and/or coordination of care
- Demonstrated proficiency with computer programs and data entry, experience with Electronic Health Records highly preferred
- Previous experience using a multi-line phone system
- Ability to manage time effectively
