Job Summary
Coordinate patient referrals by assembling clinical background information, reviewing referral guidelines, and providing appropriate details to specialists while ensuring complete and accurate registration of patient demographics and insurance data. Prioritize referrals by urgency, maintain ongoing tracking and documentation, and serve as the point of contact for patients and specialists regarding questions, language barriers, or transportation needs. Assist with routine duties such as answering phones, greeting staff, faxing insurance companies, and supporting the check-in/out process alongside medical office specialists. Maintain patient privacy, attend staff meetings, and complete daily assignments while ensuring your station remains clean and clutter-free.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- one year experience in the medical field
- one year experience working with insurance companies
- two to five years of experience in the customer service field
- Drug Screen
- Physical Assessment
- Tuberculosis screen
- Background check (Criminal, Civil, Educational, Previous Employment, etc.)
- Driver Record screen (positions requiring on-the-job driving)
- Immunizations required for employment
