Job Summary
Coordinate all patient referrals for Internal Medicine, researching managed care organizations for proper providers and obtaining current identification for certification. Prepare authorizations with patient diagnosis and physician requests, then schedule specialty appointments and request follow-up information. Educate patients about referral guidelines and policies while obtaining and documenting pre-authorizations for clinical treatments. Maintain current knowledge of managed care referral policies and implement procedural changes as required. Ensure patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and CJMC policies. Requires Spanish language ability and proficiency in administrative procedures.
