Job Summary
Plan and lead community-focused programs for youth and intergenerational patrons while supporting evening and weekend events. Welcome visitors at service desks, assist with technology and research, and coordinate teen volunteers to build strong relationships with teachers and local partners. Open and close the library, manage scheduling coverage, and serve as Person in Charge when needed. Mentor staff and deliver excellent day-to-day service across both the school and public library functions. This role supports the Davies Library in Deer Trail, a vital hub for surrounding rural communities, fostering collaboration with staff, volunteers, and local organizations to reflect community needs.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in library and information science
- At least two years of library-related experience
- Plan to earn your MLIS within three years
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience providing great customer service
- Experience working with a variety of people and tasks
- Intermediate skills using Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Familiarity with Microsoft Teams
- Willingness to learn and apply new technologies
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to manage time well
- Ability to support teams across the Arapahoe Library District
Desired Qualifications
- Experience offering reference, technology, or advisory services in a library setting
- Spanish language skills
