Job Summary
Enforce game rules and policies by maintaining constant surveillance during basketball, soccer, and volleyball matches. Arrive 15 minutes prior to scheduled games, complete score sheets, and facilitate the youth sports pledge. Ensure games start on time, adjust goal heights, and verify proper equipment usage. Actively engage with coaches and players, explain calls clearly, and maintain control under pressure. Assist with set-up, clean-up, and daily equipment checks while promoting YMCA programs. Complete mandatory training, staff meetings, and special events as assigned. Work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations in moderate to loud environments.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 16 years of age
- Appropriate work permits
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills
- Knowledge of youth developmental stages
- Ability to apply corresponding learning and physical traits to curriculum development and classroom management
- CPR/AED & First Aid certification
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
- Willingness to work an on-call schedule rotation
- Ability to perform medium work exerting up to 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally
- Ability to perform medium work exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently
- Ability to perform medium work exerting up to 10 pounds of force constantly
- Close visual acuity
- Visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned
- Visual acuity to operate motor vehicles
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- Manual dexterity to accurately work on the phone, computer keyboard, and other equipment
- Successful employment verification
- Background screening
- DCF Level 2 Background Check
