Job Summary
Reentry/Outreach Specialist to provide direct reentry services to Remington Center clients, coordinate with state reentry providers to identify service gaps, and work to increase access to resources for people affected by incarceration. Responsibilities include processing reentry referrals, release planning, post-release support (housing, financial planning, child support obligations, employment), making institution visits, maintaining contact with released clients, attending community meetings on reentry and criminal justice issues, engaging in advocacy to improve the criminal legal system, assisting with curriculum development, and participating in regular staff meetings and grant reporting. The role emphasizes developing external partnerships, delivering outreach content to community members, researching and developing program materials, and leading program implementation with staff and volunteers.
Required Qualifications
- Professional experience working with vulnerable populations, especially those incarcerated or formerly incarcerated
- Knowledge of Wisconsin Department of Corrections processes and procedures
- A demonstrated interest in policy advocacy, community organizing or involvement with community service providers and familiarity with the reentry service provider landscape in Wisconsin
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
