Job Summary
Accountant II participates in compiling financial reporting, compliance, general ledger reconciliation, budgeting and financial analysis. Responsibilities include assisting in month-end/year-end close, maintaining and updating journal entries and the general ledger, reconciling bank accounts, monitoring accounts payable/receivable for timely payments, evaluating financial operations for risks and cost/profit improvements, assisting in accounts payable/receivable/billing and other department functions, collaborating on budgets/forecasts, utilizing accounting software, and performing other duties as assigned. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 3-5 years of accounting experience, strong analytical skills, proficiency with accounting software and advanced Excel, excellent attention to detail, organization, effective communication of financial data to non-finance teams, and willingness to work nonstandard hours. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 3-5 years of accounting experience preferred
- Strong analytical skills including ability to analyze data, identify discrepancies, and identify trends
- Proficient in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Outstanding attention to detail ensuring accuracy in financial records and reports
- Proven organizational skills with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines and deliver high quality work under tight timelines
- Effective communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-finance
- Willingness to accommodate nonstandard work hours as necessary
- Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interaction
