Job Summary
Assist a certificated teacher in providing instruction to individual or small groups; monitors and report student progress. Tutor individuals or small groups, participate as a member of an instructional team, prepare and organize lessons, administer and score tests, monitor and report student behavior, perform routine clerical duties, provide classroom setup and materials, oversee labs, and communicate with teachers and parents as needed. Emphasis on applying basic knowledge of district subjects, safety practices, and effective communication to support student learning and classroom activities.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Passing of para-educator exam
- 64 college semester hours OR teacher certification
