Job Summary
Perform diagnostics, preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on Freightliner and Western Star trucks, including commercial vehicle inspections and related repairs. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, electronic, engine, and aftertreatment systems using OEM diagnostic equipment while coordinating with Parts Technicians for component availability. Accurately record labour time, diagnostics, and parts used to complete repair orders and inspection documentation meeting company and regulatory requirements. Participate in ongoing manufacturer and in-house technical training to maintain certifications and broaden experience with specialized logging and mining equipment. Full-time, year-round employment in Cranbrook, BC with relocation assistance available.
Required Qualifications
- Manitoba Truck and Transport Mechanic journeyperson certification
- Red Seal endorsement
- Commercial vehicle inspection experience
- provincial inspection certification
- willingness and eligibility to obtain B.C. Authorized Inspector certification
- Valid Class 1 or Class 3 driver's licence
Desired Qualifications
- Freightliner and/or Western Star experience
- Detroit and Cummins diagnostic software experience
- Strong troubleshooting skills with electrical systems, engines, and aftertreatment
- Red Seal endorsement preferred
- Commercial vehicle inspection experience or provincial inspection certification preferred
