Job Summary
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair surface and underground mining equipment at the Pugwash Mine in Nova Scotia. Use hoists, lift trucks, hand tools, and power tools; diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic problems in motors, pumps, valves, and controls. Work orders are provided verbally and in writing; determine the nature and extent of needed repairs. Rotating 8-hour shifts Monday to Friday with overtime on Saturdays and Sundays. Required Qualifications
- Red Seal Millwright certification
- 3+ years of experience
- ability to troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- experience repairing motors, pumps, valves, and controls
- ability to read and interpret work orders (oral and written)
- experience working on surface and underground equipment
- proficiency with hoists, lift trucks, hand tools, and power tools
- willingness to work 8-hour rotating shifts with overtime on weekends
- ability to perform maintenance and repair tasks at a mine site (Pugwash, NS)
