Job Summary
Troubleshoot all Orica explosive pumping and manufacturing equipment, including fault finding and repair of prime mover explosives delivery units, primarily Western Star Chassis. Complete regular fleet maintenance and inspections through the preventative maintenance program, assist with vehicle audits and regulatory inspections, and ensure regulatory compliance and mobile major hazard management. Perform electrical and hydraulic repair and failure diagnosis on Detroit Diesel, Mercedes, and CAT power plants. Schedule: 7 X 7 rotation (12 hours/day). Requires travel to other Orica sites within Western Canada.
Required Qualifications
- Inter Provincial Red Seal certificate required – Heavy Duty or Truck and Transport (Commercial Transport)
- High School /Secondary School diploma or equivalent
- Class 1 drivers' license OR Class 3 drivers' license with air
- Clean driver's abstract
- Computer proficient in Microsoft programs
- Must be willing to travel and be able to work outside in all conditions
- Capable of working in a heavy equipment environment
- Previous mine experience, preferred
- Proficiency in SAP work order systems, preferred
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in electrical and hydraulic repair and failure diagnosis
- Experience with Detroit Diesel, Mercedes, CAT power plants
- Experience working with progressive cavity and gear pumps
- The ability to undertake confined space training for the purpose of tank Inspections
- They must be a self starter with a can-do attitude and the ability to focus on attention to detail
- A strong safety background
- Motivated team player with strong organizational and communication skills
- CVIP (Commercial Vehicle Inspection Permit)
