Job Summary
Troubleshoot and repair prime mover explosives delivery units, primarily Western Star chassis, while managing electrical and hydraulic systems. Complete regular fleet maintenance and inspections through the preventative maintenance program, assist with vehicle audits, and ensure regulatory compliance for major hazard management. Diagnose failures in progressive cavity and gear pumps, perform tank inspections with confined space training, and maintain all equipment under all weather conditions. This 7x7 rotation role includes travel across Western Canada and provides training, tools, and housing for overnight stays.
Required Qualifications
- Inter Provincial Red Seal certificate required – Heavy Duty or Truck and Transport (Commercial Transport)
- High School /Secondary School diploma or equivalent
- Class 1 drivers' license OR Class 3 drivers' license with air
- Clean driver's abstract
- Must be a self starter with a can-do attitude and the ability to focus on attention to detail
- A strong safety background is a must
- Motivated team player with strong organizational and communication skills
- Must be willing to travel and be able to work outside in all conditions
- Capable of working in a heavy equipment environment a must
- Computer proficient in Microsoft programs – required
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in electrical and hydraulic repair and failure diagnosis
- Experience with Detroit Diesel, Mercedes, CAT power plants
- Experience working with progressive cavity and gear pumps would be an asset
- The ability to undertake confined space training for the purpose of tank Inspections would be an asset
- Previous mine experience, preferred
- Proficiency in SAP work order systems, preferred
- Class 3 drivers' license with air (an asset)
- CVIP (Commercial Vehicle Inspection Permit), an asset
