Job Summary
Troubleshoot and repair all Orica explosive pumping and manufacturing equipment, with a focus on prime mover explosives delivery units and progressive cavity or gear pumps. Complete regular fleet maintenance and inspections through the preventative maintenance program, assist with vehicle audits, and ensure regulatory compliance and mobile major hazard management. Perform fault finding and repair on Western Star chassis, utilizing electrical and hydraulic repair skills while maintaining a strong safety background. Schedule includes a 7 X 7 rotation (12 hours/day) with travel to other Western Canada sites; transportation and housing are provided. Requires an Inter Provincial Red Seal certificate and Class 1 or Class 3 license.
Required Qualifications
- Inter Provincial Red Seal certificate required – Heavy Duty or Truck and Transport (Commercial Transport)
- High School /Secondary School diploma or equivalent
- Class 1 drivers' license OR Class 3 drivers' license with air
- Clean driver's abstract
- Computer proficient in Microsoft programs
- Must be a self starter with a can-do attitude and the ability to focus on attention to detail
- A strong safety background is a must
- Motivated team player with strong organizational and communication skills
- Must be willing to travel and be able to work outside in all conditions
- Capable of working in a heavy equipment environment a must
- Schedule: 7 X 7 rotation (12 hours/day)
- This role will require travelling to other Orica sites within Western Canada
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in electrical and hydraulic repair and failure diagnosis
- Experience with Detroit Diesel, Mercedes, CAT power plants
- Experience working with progressive cavity and gear pumps would be an asset
- The ability to undertake confined space training for the purpose of tank Inspections would be an asset
- Previous mine experience, preferred
- Proficiency in SAP work order systems, preferred
- Class 3 drivers' license with air (an asset)
- CVIP (Commercial Vehicle Inspection Permit), an asset
