Job Summary
Red Seal Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) to install, maintain, repair, and optimize complex mechanical equipment in a manufacturing setting. Responsibilities include diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic failures; performing fabrication, welding, cutting, and pipe fitting; conducting rigging operations; reading and interpreting technical drawings; operating shop tools and CMMS to log tasks and track parts; coordinating with operators to verify equipment after repairs; maintaining a clean, safe maintenance shop; and performing occasional basic electrical tasks with lockout/tagout practices to support overall equipment reliability and safety.
Required Qualifications
- Red Seal Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) certification
- Experience maintaining and repairing complex mechanical systems
- Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic principles
- Ability to safely operate tools, shop equipment, and lifting devices
- Comfort working at heights using ladders, staging, and lift equipment
- Ability to read technical drawings and follow detailed instructions
- Familiarity with CMMS software (asset management/maintenance logging)
- Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail
- Physical ability to lift, climb, bend, and work in various industrial conditions
- Commitment to safe work practices, including lockout/tagout
