Job Summary
Senior Red Hat Linux Systems Administrator responsible for managing Ubuntu and Red Hat Linux servers in production and staging environments, performing upgrades, patching, and tuning; implementing security policies, backup/recovery strategies, and access controls; troubleshooting hardware, OS, and network issues; maintaining configuration management and deployment pipelines with Ansible, Puppet, or similar; collaborating with DevOps and Cloud teams for provisioning (AWS, Azure, or on-prem); ensuring uptime and security; participating in capacity planning, DR, and incident response; creating detailed system documentation, SOPs, and audit reports.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on Linux system administration (Ubuntu & Red Hat)
- Strong command of Bash scripting and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Shell, or Python basics)
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, or Prometheus
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, NFS, SSH, firewalls)
- Experience with virtualization and containerization technologies (VMware, KVM, Docker, etc.)
- Strong troubleshooting skills with system logs, kernel issues, and service failures
- Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipeline environments
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) is an added advantage
- Excellent documentation and communication skills; ability to support global teams
