Job Summary
Senior Linux Systems Administrator responsible for managing and optimizing Ubuntu and Red Hat Linux server infrastructure across production and development environments. Collaborates with DevOps, Network, and Software teams to implement automation, support mission-critical systems, and streamline infrastructure management. Key duties include patch management, kernel updates, security policy enforcement, backup/recovery strategies, performance tuning, incident response, capacity planning, disaster recovery, and maintaining detailed system documentation and SOPs. Required skills include Bash scripting, Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, monitoring with Nagios/Zabbix/Prometheus, networking fundamentals, virtualization/containerization (VMware, KVM, Docker), cloud experience (AWS/Azure/GCP), SSH/SSL hardening, and CI/CD processes; RHCSA/RHCE are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on Linux system administration experience (Ubuntu & Red Hat)
- Strong Bash scripting and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Shell, or Python basics)
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, or Prometheus
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, NFS, SSH, firewalls)
- Experience with virtualization and containerization technologies (VMware, KVM, Docker, etc.)
- Strong troubleshooting skills with system logs, kernel issues, and service failures
- Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipeline environments
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) is an added advantage
- Excellent documentation and communication skills; ability to support global teams
