Job Summary
Senior Linux Systems Administrator to manage Ubuntu and Red Hat servers across production and staging, perform upgrades and patching, implement security policies, and support DevOps/Cloud collaboration. Responsibilities include monitoring and maintaining Linux infrastructures, configuring backup/recovery, hardening SSH/SSL, and contributing to capacity planning, disaster recovery, and incident response. Skills in Bash scripting and automation (Ansible/Puppet/Terraform/Python basics), monitoring (Nagios/Zabbix/Prometheus), networking fundamentals, virtualization/containerization (VMware/KVM/Docker), and cloud familiarity (AWS/Azure/GCP) are required. Documentation, SOPs, and audit reporting are part of the role, with emphasis on uptime, security, and cross-functional coordination.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Linux system administration (Ubuntu & Red Hat)
- Strong command of Bash scripting and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Shell, or Python basics)
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, or Prometheus
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, NFS, SSH, firewalls)
- Experience with virtualization and containerization technologies (VMware, KVM, Docker, etc.)
- Strong troubleshooting skills with system logs, kernel issues, and service failures
- Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipeline environments
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) is an added advantage
- Excellent documentation and communication skills; ability to support global teams
