Job Summary
Recycling Technician responsible for processing recycling and waste management at the Cypress, CA facility. Responsibilities include overseeing collection, handling and delivery of recyclables; ensuring proper container placement; inspecting containers and bins; maintaining records and reporting recycling activity; keeping the recycling center clean and safe; receiving, inspecting and verifying materials; picking up and delivering supplies; loading/unloading trucks; overseeing equipment maintenance; assisting with sorting and baling of recyclables; logging pickups; reporting spills or hazardous waste to the Plant Manager/VP Sustainability; and participating in special projects. Requires 6–12 months production experience, a high school diploma/GED, forklift certification, strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication, knowledge of hazardous material disposal, safe baler use, independent work ethic, and adherence to safety procedures.
Required Qualifications
- At least 6 to 12 months experience in a production environment
- High school diploma/GED
- Forklift experience/certification
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of proper methods of disposing of hazardous materials
- Knowledge of safe and proper use of baler
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Ability to understand necessar safety procedures and precautions
