Job Summary
Operator – Heavy Equipment at a recycling center/landfill/transfer station responsible for safe operation of equipment (forklift, excavator, bulldozer, front-end loader) to transfer, spread, cover, load, and/or compact waste or soil. Responsibilities include pre- and post-operation inspections, maintaining safety standards, monitoring waste for unacceptable material, keeping equipment operational with routine servicing, completing Equipment Condition Reports, reporting repairs, ensuring a clean and serviced shop, and performing other duties as assigned. Requires two years of heavy equipment operation experience and one year at OSHA-regulated sites; emphasizes safety, professionalism, time management, customer service, honesty and trustworthiness, and adherence to company policies.
Required Qualifications
- Two years’ prior related experience in heavy equipment operation
- One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA
- Good customer services skills to meet and exceed customer expectations
- Good time management skills to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed in an efficient and safe manner
- Good follow through ability; ability to adhere to work schedule and follows through on challenges as they arise
- Ability to adhere to Company policies and rules set forth; promotes the Company’s safety standards
