Recycling Coordinator

Job Summary
The Recycling Coordinator develops and implements recycling and diversion programs and assists in promoting the Company’s recycling efforts. Responsibilities include educating customers on proper recycling techniques, monitoring programs, coordinating customer collection schedules with Operations, creating outreach materials for food waste education, delivering classroom presentations, drafting communications and publications, performing waste audits, compiling reports and data analyses, researching grants, and representing the Company at community events and trade shows. Skills emphasize strong communication, outreach, program development, data tracking, project coordination, and public engagement.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a customer-facing role that includes identifying and addressing customer needs
- Valid driver’s license
- Experience in communication, business/economic or professional outreach activities
- Experience managing websites and using social media
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to motivate volunteers for community events
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with office staff, city officials, community and business groups, and general public
