Job Summary
Collect, salvage, and sort reusable or recycle materials or waste materials while inspecting and sorting materials in dock and collection areas. Work with multiple collection containers, maintain clean work areas, and support shift leads in completing punch-list items. Comply with safety rules, perform repetitive tasks, and maintain logs and schedules. Use proper personal protective equipment and communicate professionally with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers. Schedule includes Sun-Wed 6am-4:30pm, 9am-7:30pm, 7pm-5:30am, and Wed-Sat 6am-4:30pm, 9am-7:30pm, 7pm-5:30am. Compensation is $15.00-$16.00 per hour. High school diploma or GED with 1-2 years of recycling experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-2 years of recycling experience in a company environment
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, and willing to share with team
- Knowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment
- Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use
- Valid driver's license
- Forklift certified
- Hazardous Waste Handling Training per RCRA
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- CPR/AED/First Aid certification
- Bilingual
