Job Summary
Recycle Technician responsible for the recycle, reuse, and reclamation program operations. Responsibilities include performing essential duties safely, following safety rules, policies, and procedures; teamwork with colleagues; maintaining logs and schedules; supporting the shift lead with punch-list items; maintaining a clean work area; adhering to PPE and professional conduct; communicating with lead, supervisor, coworkers, managers, and customers; understanding environmental reporting systems; collecting, salvaging, and sorting reusable or recyclable materials; inspecting and sorting materials; maintaining dock and collection areas; and applying knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, and hazardous materials. Qualifications include light to moderate physical tasks (lift up to 35 pounds), and familiarity with reading instructions and basic safety training; bilingual ability is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-2 years of recycling experience in a company environment or equivalent
- CPR/AED/First Aid certification a plus
- May be required to have a valid driver’s license
- Completed all safety and task training certification
- May be required to be forklift certified
- Hazardous Waste Handling Training per RCRA
- Completed all safety and task training certifications
