Job Summary
As Rector of the Tantur Ecumenical Institute, provide vision and administrative leadership for ecumenical initiatives in the Holy Land; oversee pastoral education programs, pilgrimages, and spiritual initiatives; hire and supervise staff; liaise with Notre Dame Jerusalem and ecclesial authorities; represent the Institute to global Christian communities; ensure budgeting and sustainable management; cultivate prayer life and ecumenical relationships; engage with diverse Christian traditions and international leaders; lead efforts in ecumenism, inter-religious dialogue, and formation of clergy and pastoral leaders; strong emphasis on leadership, administration, and collaborative governance within a Catholic academic context; start date anticipated early summer 2027; full-time position with benefits; salary commensurate with experience.
Required Qualifications
- An advanced degree in divinity, theology, or a related field
- Demonstrated interest in ecumenism and the formation of clergy and pastoral leaders; sensitivity to inter-religious dialogue
- At least 10 years of work experience in pastoral, administrative, or academic settings
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills
- Language proficiency in English; proficiency in other languages is a plus
- Must be eligible to reside and work in Israel/Palestine
- Strong leadership and collaboration skills
- Experience in leading or coordinating pastoral education programs and pilgrimages
- Ability to collaborate with Notre Dame Jerusalem colleagues and external ecclesial authorities
