Job Summary
Design and maintain recreational and vocational programs that build skills, independence, and employability for youth ages 10-19. Collaborate with leaders, employers, and educators to create work programs, internships, apprenticeships, and service projects. Assess life skills, provide age-appropriate training, and assist with essential documents and applications. Guide youth in career exploration, counseling, resume building, and job search strategies. Oversee the vocation and recreation program and staff to ensure youth receive therapeutic services supporting resident treatment plans. Continuously enhance vocational offerings, manage career center resources, and supervise recreation/vocational staff. Participate in hiring, training, mentoring, and performance evaluations. Maintain accurate youth records, manage budgets, and research fundraising/grant opportunities. Full-time onsite Monday-Friday with some nights or weekends; starting salary $55,000-$60,000.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in social services and/or vocational training
- 4 years of relevant experience
- Valid driver's license
- Must meet state regulating agency and Home Office driving requirements
- Must successfully pass a DHS criminal background check
- Must successfully participate and complete the Handle With Care behavior intervention method exam and training
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum 1-year supervisory experience
