Recreational Therapy Assistant Lead

Job Summary
Coordinate and conduct therapeutic recreational activities while assisting the supervisor with planning year-round programs for patients. Lead the therapeutic recreation clinic and recreation room, developing trust and community unity through individual sessions and therapeutic groups. Provide ongoing assessments of patients' functional levels in collaboration with occupational and physical therapy to maximize patient functioning. Develop and incorporate activity services into treatment plans, while completing charting, reviewing assessments, and updating the programming schedule. Ensure safety by inspecting equipment and facilities, maintaining inventory, and performing necessary maintenance work orders. Conduct staff orientation for new employees and students, and consult with medical staff to determine patient participation levels.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
- Minimum of 2 years-Relevant experience
- Associate's Degree
