Job Summary
Recreational Therapist delivers therapeutic recreation programs in an inpatient behavioral health setting to support patients’ emotional, cognitive, and physical well-being; requires CTRS certification, a Bachelor’s degree in Recreational Therapy or related field, and 2+ years of experience. Responsibilities include establishing treatment goals, evaluating progress, applying clinical skills in Activity Therapy sessions, participating in treatment team conferences, documenting progress, applying interdisciplinary care, developing new programs, teaching equipment use, and ensuring patient safety with de-escalation as needed. In-person, full-time role based in Warren, MI.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Recreational Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, Psychology, or a related field
- Minimum: 2+ years of experience in recreational therapy, preferably in a behavioral health setting
- Certification as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS)
