Recreational Therapist

Organize patient activities to reinforce cognitive stimulation, encourage socialization, and promote self-initiative while training Mental Health staff to carry out programs. Plan community education events, including thematic decorations and special events, to cultivate a positive, calm environment. Create weekly schedules meeting CMS guidelines and develop therapeutic activities for small and large groups based on participant functioning levels. Exercise accountability for patient and staff safety. This role focuses on the 3Cs of Care, Community, and Compliance within an inpatient psychiatric setting.
