Job Summary
Recreational Therapist provides community-based recreational therapy services for individuals on the Autism Spectrum or with Developmental/Intellectual Disabilities. Design sessions tailored to people’s goals and organize adapted sports, dramatics, arts and crafts, social activities, and other services to restore, remediate, and rehabilitate. Participate in interdisciplinary support planning and provide ongoing evaluation and follow-up. Full-time role with hourly pay starting at $33 and competitive based on experience; benefits include mileage reimbursement, health/dental/vision/life insurance, employee stock ownership plan, PTO, EAP, continuing education/conference reimbursement, Microsoft 365, annual auto/tech stipend.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree focused on Recreational Therapy
- National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC) certification
- Eligibility to legally work in the United States
- Vehicle with proper insurance
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, able to walk, bend, squat, turn in knees/back/wrist/shoulders and grasp with both hands (for CPR and personal care)
- Ability to competently administer CPR/First Aid
- Negative TB screening
- Preferably at least one year of experience working with individuals with disabilities in integrated settings
