Job Summary
Promote meaningful activities and empower seniors to make choices while supporting autonomy and independence in the Richmond village care environment. Lead individual and group recreational programs by applying the APIED process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, documentation) and ensure quality control through monitoring, analysis, and reporting. Deliver innovative recreational programmes that foster purposeful engagement and dignity. A Registered Diversional and Recreational Therapist is desirable, though a NZQA Certificate is required for those without a DRT licence. This casual role includes a weekend rate of 40% additional to the hourly rate and requires a full NZ driver's license to operate a mobility van. Required Qualifications
- Full NZ Driver License
- the ability to drive a Mobility Van
- A Registered (qualified and licensed) Diversional and Recreational Therapist
- willingness to complete the NZQA Certificate in Diversional and Recreational Therapy

- A passionate, flexible, self-motivated, innovative, energetic, open-minded individual
- A person with sound understanding of holistic person center approach and high level of human awareness (empathy & compassion)
- A person who can run individual and group recreational activities
- A person with good communications skills and strong willingness to learn
- A weekend rate of an additional 40 percent of the hourly rate
