Job Summary
Develop and facilitate fun, creative education and recreation activities, sports practices, and competitive programs to promote physical and mental health. Evaluate participant performance and modify activities as needed, while maintaining equipment and ensuring safety regulations are followed during all events. Direct sporting and educational activities to uphold play standards, create a sense of belonging through recognition, and mediate conflicts to maintain group cohesion. Establish supportive relationships with participants, offer mentoring or referrals for case management, and collaborate on all Club and organizational activities. Maintain a professional appearance and high customer service standards in a dynamic environment involving children and young people.
Required Qualifications
- University credits or bachelor's degree in physical education or Recreation and Sports from an accredited university
- One (1) year of experience working with children and young people
- Be enthusiastic about the sport you are training
- Know how to motivate and encourage
- Have good observation skills
- Be a good communicator
- enjoy working closely with other people
- Knowledge of the principles and processes for providing personal and customer services
