Job Summary
Maintain accurate and timely departmental records, including Resident Assessments, Care Planning, MDS Coding, Progress Notes, and ActivityPro entries. Participate in ongoing program evaluation and quality improvement initiatives. Ensure recreation supplies and equipment are maintained per infection prevention standards and report deficiencies. Work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays, with possible travel for training and meetings. Requires a diploma or degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies, or current enrollment with completion expected within three years.
Required Qualifications
- A diploma or degree from a post-secondary program in Recreation and Leisure Studies, Therapeutic Recreation, or a related field from a recognized college or university
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary diploma or degree program in Recreation and Leisure Studies, Therapeutic Recreation, or a related field, with the expectation of program completion within three years of hire
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic care environment
- Must be able to provide a current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check, including a Criminal Record Check, or be willing to obtain one
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of and experience in delivering recreation and leisure services in a healthcare or long-term care setting is considered an asset
