Recreation Therapist

The Recreation Therapist/Assistant Memory Care Coordinator at Morningside House of Exton is a full-time, manager-in-training role (40 hours weekly, Sunday–Thursday) focused on planning and leading engaging activities and enrichment programs for Memory Care residents with dementia, while assisting the Memory Care Director with select administrative, operational, and care coordination tasks. The role combines hands-on resident engagement through activities and wellness programming with leadership development opportunities, collaborating with nursing, caregiving, dining, and life enrichment teams to support resident quality of life. Responsibilities include coordinating daily activities, leading group and one-on-one engagements (games, music, crafts, sensory activities, exercise, social events, themed programming), maintaining calendars and documentation, onboarding and training support, and reporting resident behavior changes to leadership. The position emphasizes a compassionate, patient demeanor, strong communication and organizational skills, and a pathway to future leadership within Memory Care operations.
