Job Summary
Recreation Specialist (on-call) supports Walton Family Whole Health & Fitness at a state-of-the-art Bentonville facility by assisting with organizing recreation activities, tournaments, and teambuilding events for children and adults. Responsibilities include running events, may teach private or group sports lessons, assisting members at the recreation desk with enrollment, purchases, reservations, and equipment checkout, racquet restringing and equipment prep, and ensuring safety guidelines are followed. Requires CPR/First Aid certification and strong customer service skills; proficient in MS Office and in using the member management system. Must be adaptable, energetic, and able to work evenings and weekends in a part-time, on-call capacity; ability to work independently or with a team to plan, run, and breakdown events.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Adult/Child First Aid and CPR/AED certification (American Red Cross, American Heart Association, National Safety Council, or American Safety & Health Institute)
- Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills
- Computer proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Working knowledge of member management system, databases, and tools
- Ability to start/complete events/activities in a timely manner
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to run events
- Experience or ability to promote/run recreation events, tournaments, leagues, and play events (preferred)
- Three years’ experience in recreation and/or organizing sports/events (preferred)
- Sports Official/Referee certification (preferred)
