Recreation Specialist-Lor

Recreation Specialist role responsible for planning and supervising recreation/non-vocational activities for assigned students, with emphasis on safety. Duties include planning and formulating student recreation activities, instructing and encouraging participation in recreation/avocational equipment, coaching or supervising various sports, maintaining equipment and work areas per standards, conducting safety-related checks, enabling larger recreational trips including bus trips (CDL required), ensuring timely, professional responses to student needs, maintaining confidentiality while coordinating emergency services as needed, training students on equipment use, possibly participating in Center HEALS program, presenting Recreation Overview to new students during CPP, organizing and directing recreation/non-vocational activities, supervising activities on and off center, ordering supplies/equipment, and conducting water safety training and swimming/watersport supervision (lifeguard certification required). Availability: Thursdays–Saturdays 12:00 PM–11:00 PM and Sundays 9:00 AM–8:00 PM with specified meal breaks. Requires ability to lead activities, supervise, and ensure safety; includes CDL-related transportation responsibilities and potential CDL-endorsed duties.
