Job Summary
Coordinate youth sports programs and activities by planning, organizing, and conducting classes for diverse age groups while developing specialized course content. Manage on-site logistics, facility preparation, and program delivery, ensuring open and safe environments for participants. Provide administrative support including data entry, scheduling, budget monitoring, and fee collection, while addressing participant complaints and maintaining records. Train subordinates and volunteers, serve as a subject matter expert, and collaborate with staff to streamline operations. Maintain compliance with district safety policies and regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working in a recreation department or similar community-focused environment
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, solutions-oriented approach
- Able to work with minimal supervision
- At least three (3) years of recent full-time paid experience (or the part-time equivalent), providing highly specialized recreational services to youth or adults in the area of assignment
- Must have current certification of First Aid, CPR and AED and must maintain certifications thereafter as a condition of continued employment
- Must possess and maintain a valid California driver's license
- If 18 years of age or older, must pass a fingerprint and/or background clearance prior to employment
Desired Qualifications
- Background in supporting youth sports programs or coaching young participants is a plus
