Job Summary
Plan, coordinate, and lead a broad program of recreational activities for housing program tenants, including arts, crafts, sports, games, gym, and other leisure activities; assess tenant interests, develop activities to meet those interests, and organize events and support groups. Collaborate with agency personnel and community partners (e.g., NYC Parks Department) to plan balanced recreation programs, track participation, and document outcomes in tenant case records. Maintain time/attendance, update materials, advocate for tenants to access medical, mental health, and supportive services, and coordinate with Social Services to ensure service delivery and continuous quality improvement. Requires strong verbal and interpersonal communication, ability to work with diverse residents, and experience in case management and program development to enhance socialization and leisure-time skills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, mental health counseling, psychology, sociology or related field with 3–5 years experience in a residential setting OR an Associate degree in related field with 5 years experience in a residential setting
