Job Summary
Recreation Program Specialist responsible for designing and leading inclusive recreational programs integrated with agricultural and animal-based initiatives. Develop and maintain partnerships with schools and community organizations; coordinate staff and volunteers; organize schedules; ensure regulatory compliance and thorough documentation; monitor outcomes and quality; oversee ropes/challenge course and outdoor education activities for diverse ages and abilities; integrate programming with farm activities; lead safe outdoor activities and manage equipment and farm-related tasks; requires strong communication/leadership, outdoor education experience, and a NY driver’s license; locationSauquoit, NY with travel.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma required
- At least 12 months working with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Experience in outdoor education and challenge course facilitation
- Ropes/Challenge course certification preferred
- Strong communication and leadership abilities
- Knowledge of Therapeutic Recreation and Positive Behavior Supports
- Ability to make independent decisions and ensure safety
- Valid NY State Driver’s License (travel required)
