Recreation Leader III - Youth Program Lead (Intermittent)

Job Summary

Lead safe, fun, and educational programs for elementary and middle school youth at designated programming sites with partner schools. Assist in program and activity development while serving as the staff lead for assigned programs. Provide transportation for youth using a city van to different site locations. This intermittent position supports the 2026-2027 After-School Programming season, running from September 3, 2026, to approximately June 17. Hours are 0-19 per week, typically Monday through Thursday from 2:45 p.m. to 6:15 p.m., with Friday shifts from 1:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m., depending on program needs. Candidates must be flexible to work limited days and times.

Required Qualifications

  • One year of experience leading or teaching youth programs
  • One year of college coursework in Recreation, Education and/or related field
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment background check
  • Valid Washington State Driver's license
  • Satisfactory driving record
  • Valid First Aid and Child and Adult CPR Certification within 60 days of hire
  • Ability to obtain a public health department food handler's permit
  • Must be flexible to work on limited days and at limited times
  • Must be available for Monday - Thursday hours from 2:45 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.
  • Must be available for Friday hours from 1:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.
  • Must be able to provide transportation for youth using a city van to different site locations
