Job Summary
Lead the overall leadership of a specific program within a recreation facility or athletic facility by maintaining participant forms, paperwork, and attendance records. Be on-site for all scheduled activities, distributing necessary paperwork and acting as an on-site liaison to assist participants, spectators, and program vendors. Solve problems, communicate, and mediate issues between participants and the general public while teaching skills, strategies, and rules. Follow inclement weather policies, cancel activities as needed, and update schedules and communications with the immediate supervisor. Attend to accidents and emergencies, complete incident reports, and consult on City and department policies. Schedule contract, volunteer, ancillary, and lower-level staff; maintain cleanliness, order, and equipment inventory. Enforce program rules emphasizing safety and sportsmanship. Assist in recruitment, training, and supervision of staff. Promote the program through flyers, registrations, brochures, and newsletters. Collect program evaluations and follow cash handling procedures. Safely transport employees, adults, and children to various recreational activities and Parks facilities.
Required Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age at the time of application submission
- CPR/First Aid Certification (or the ability to get certified within 60 days of hire)
- Possession of a valid Driver License (Operator)
- Eligible for rehire (if former employee)
