Job Summary
Supervise and monitor internal and external recreation activities, focusing on client engagement while maintaining equipment inventory. Organize trips for cultural activities, plan special facility events, and develop linkages with external recreational programs. Act as a liaison between the site and community-based resources, maintain trip logs for agency vehicles, and attend on-site case reviews. Work Sunday through Thursday from 11am to 7pm at an hour rate of $21.42. This role supports the mission of Samaritan Daytop Village, serving over 33,000 New Yorkers annually across 60 programs in the New York City area.
Required Qualifications
- High School or Equivalency Diploma
- At least two years prior experience in providing recreation services preferably in a Human Services agency
- Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds
- Good interpersonal and communication skills to interact with clients, staff, and children
- Knowledge of recreational programming and fundamentals of recreational sports and activities
- Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EMR
- Willingness to utilize company vehicles to transport and escort clients as needed
- Flexibility and patience are a must for this role
- Ability to obtain First Aid/CPR certification within 90 days of employment
