Job Summary
Lead planning, management, and implementation of all Beacon youth programming for middle and high school participants, designing and delivering activities aligned with Positive Youth Development principles. Actively recruit and retain youth through outreach and relationship-building while fostering a safe, inclusive space where participants feel ownership and confidence. Facilitate intentional, age-appropriate programming incorporating sports, recreation, and project-based activities to promote physical literacy and leadership. Serve as a consistent role model by participating in sessions, providing structured mentorship, and managing behavioral incidents using developmentally appropriate strategies. Collaborate with staff and community partners to execute special events and trips, ensuring safety and adherence to policies. Maintain accurate attendance and enrollment records, submit required documentation including lesson plans and incident reports, and follow all emergency procedures and safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a genuine love for working with youth
- Must want to serve as a mentor to young people
- High School diploma or equivalent (HSE/GED)
Desired Qualifications
- Two years of experience working with youth in after-school, school-based, camp, or community settings
- Experience in sports, recreation, enrichment, or youth leadership
- Strong youth facilitation, engagement, and relationship building skills
- Ability to lead groups, manage behavior constructively, and create inclusive environments
- Organized, dependable, and able to balance programming, supervision, and documentation
- Genuine passion for mentoring young people and working collaboratively with families and staff
- Bilingual (Spanish/English)
