Job Summary
Conduct youth recreational programs for ages 8–18, including sports, arts, and field trips, while supervising behavior and fostering positive social interactions. Open and close community centers, maintain facility safety and cleanliness, and manage equipment inventories. Prepare weekly reports, assist with program planning and budget requests, and support large-scale events like the 4th of July celebration and Easter Egg Hunt. Respond to public inquiries and register participants. Work the assigned schedule, obtain required certifications within six months, and maintain a valid driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Texas Driver's License
- Good driving record
- Ability to operate City vehicles within three months of hire
- Food Manager Certification to be obtained within six months of hire
- CPR/First Aid/AED Certification to be obtained within one year of hire
- Must have and maintain, without interruption, all necessary licenses, certifications, clearances, and/or job requirements
Desired Qualifications
- Bi-Lingual (English/Spanish)
- Prior experience working with children or youth in a recreational, educational, or community setting
- Experience assisting with special events or group activities
- Customer service or public-facing experience
