Job Summary

Recreation Assistant at NeighborHealth’s PACE Center oversees and implements a therapeutic activity program tailored to the interests and needs of PACE participants. Supports Recreation Therapist and facilitates PACE Center-Based Participant Council Meetings to solicit advice. Contributes to developing the therapeutic activities program and provides guidance to PCAs assisting participants. Demonstrates ability to conduct arts and crafts groups, exercise groups, cognitive activities (e.g., current events, quizzes), and music groups; contributes ideas for monthly activities calendars. Begins activities on time with prepared materials. Pays close attention to resident well-being and engagement, pairing activities to cognitive, physical, and social needs. Position requires a High School diploma, nursing assistant certification a plus, an Activities Assistant Certification (AAC) or commitment to obtain within 6 months, and two years of experience with elders or frail populations. Pay range is $22-$31 per hour, with full benefits and opportunities for professional development. Required Qualifications
