Job Summary
Recreation Assistant supports the implementation of therapeutic, social, and recreational programs for PACE participants. Under supervision, this role leads and assists group, individual, and one-on-one activities (e.g., exercise, arts, crafts, music, games, outings), supports planning, preparing, and evaluating programs, and provides assistance with non-skilled ADLs. Responsibilities include organizing events, ensuring setup/cleanup, maintaining supplies, and documenting activities in accordance with PACE standards. The role participates in the interdisciplinary team (IDT), upholds participant safety, dignity, and confidentiality (HIPAA), assists with meal service and participant arrivals/departures, adheres to infection control and universal precautions, and contributes to trainings and quality improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience working with older adults, preferably in a PACE, adult day health, long-term care, or healthcare setting. If not present, training will be provided.
