Job Summary
Coordinate and implement recreational programs including music, arts and crafts, swimming, and adaptive physical exercise for individuals served at the Children's Rehabilitation Center. Adapt activities to meet specific individual needs while maintaining orderly recreation areas and ensuring proper equipment inventory. Lead leisure time activities for clients not engaged in active treatment programs and collect monthly performance data. Provide personal care support, including assistance with toileting and grooming, and safely transport individuals to outings after completing driver safety training. Manage inappropriate behavior using established behavior modification techniques and complete assigned paperwork.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Valid Arkansas Driver's License
- Proof of insurability
- Must be 18 years of age
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of managers, clients, and the employees of the organization
- Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's
- Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Standard First Aid
- CPR
- Must be able to regularly reach with hands and arms and talk or hear
- Must be able to frequently stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
- Must be able to have close vision
- Must be able to have distance vision
- Must be able to have color vision
- Must be able to have peripheral vision
- Must be able to have depth perception
- Must be able to adjust focus
- Must be able to regularly be exposed to outside weather conditions
- Must be able to occasionally be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts
- Must be able to tolerate a noise level that is usually loud
