Job Summary
Plan, organize, and lead individual and group recreational activities, including cognitive, physical, social, and leisure programs. Coordinate monthly events, holiday celebrations, and special activities while adapting content to residents' varying abilities. Transport residents between activities and maintain supplies and activity areas. Observe residents during sessions to report concerns and ensure safety, dignity, and privacy. Build positive relationships with residents and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to enhance quality of life. Work full-time at Anchor Care and Rehabilitation Center in Hazlet, NJ, earning $16.50 per hour.
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience working with older adults or in a healthcare, recreation, or activities setting is preferred
- Energetic, enthusiastic, creative, and compassionate
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to engage residents with varying physical and cognitive abilities
