Job Summary
Recreation/Activities Aide duties include planning, developing, and leading engaging recreation programs tailored to residents' interests and needs; creating monthly activity calendars; documenting participation using SigmaCare or PointClickCare; collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to support resident well-being and individualized care plans; ensuring regulatory standards are met while maintaining a positive, inclusive environment; versatile activities spanning cooking/baking, singing, dancing, arts & crafts, and technology; direct work with residents on units without direct supervision; organizing supplies and setting up program areas; assisting recreation specialists and tracking daily attendance and resident participation; communicating information to care teammates and following established emergency procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/equivalent
- Experience with recreation therapy/activities a plus
- Strong computer skills
- Ability to work as a team
- Ability to multi-task
- Experience with older adults in skilled nursing or long-term care setting
- Knowledge of person-centered care philosophy
- Proficiency with SigmaCare or PointClickCare EMR
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Certification in dementia care strongly preferred
