Job Summary
Recovery Worker – AOD provides recovery-oriented, trauma-informed support for participants with co-occurring mental health and substance use needs, focusing on practical support, service navigation, and care coordination to ensure person-centered service delivery. The role works within a multidisciplinary team to promote harm minimization, develops and implements Individual Support Plans, offers psychoeducation and brief interventions, and strengthens connections to pharmacotherapy and specialist AOD services. It includes building strong, culturally competent relationships, coordinating responses across AOD and mental health services, and contributing to workforce development in AOD practice. The position may be based out of multiple NSW offices (Campbelltown, Penrith, Bella Vista, Lismore, Newcastle West) with travel as needed. This is a 12-month fixed-term, part-time contract at SCHADS Level 4B, with salary packaging and leave loading benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs, or an equivalent qualification with an AOD specialisation, and relevant experience in a mental health and/or AOD context.
- Current Working with Children Check
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current valid Driver’s License and the ability to undertake travel for the role
- Right to Work within Australia
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate
