Recovery & Support Specialist

Job Summary
Provide technical advice and guidance to the Claims team on return-to-health and return-to-work matters to optimize recovery outcomes within Income Protection and TPD portfolios. Analyze and summarize medical reports to develop clear strategies for claims, while liaising with treating health practitioners, pre-injury employers, and third-party vendors to implement effective rehabilitation plans. Conduct targeted reviews of IP and TPD claims to identify strategies aligned with TAL's claims philosophy and Health Connect Frameworks. Coach Claims Consultants on managing medical and stakeholder contacts, deliver training as required, and contribute to process improvement and department projects. Ensure all activities adhere to external regulations and TAL policies.
Required Qualifications
- At least 4 years demonstrated experience in a similar role within an Occupational or Vocational Rehabilitation field or other allied health discipline
- Ability to identify and develop strategies to overcome biopsychosocial issues
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service to a wide range of clients and stakeholders
- Strong written and verbal communication, negotiation and influencing
- 1 x Permanent role

Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience working in compensable disability management environment (Life incl. IP and TPD, CTP, Workers comp etc)
- Demonstrated experience in the provision of effective rehabilitation services desirable
- Experience in coaching and imparting knowledge, including an uplift of skills of case managers desirable
