Job Summary
The Recovery Support Specialist (RSS) is responsible for patient supervision and safety, providing continuous monitoring, conducting safety checks, and responding to crisis situations. This role involves measuring and documenting vital signs, supervising self-administration of medications, and maintaining respectful interactions with patients while supporting their engagement in treatment programming. Collaboration with clinical and medical staff to ensure coordinated care and compliance with facility operations is essential. The position requires strong observation, communication, and documentation skills, along with the ability to remain professional in high-stress situations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/equivalent or higher
- Minimum age of 21 and ability to meet company motor vehicle insurance requirements; valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required when driving is assigned
- Ability to maintain professionalism, empathy, and composure in high-stress or crisis situations
- Strong observation, communication, and documentation skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, and/or mental health settings strongly preferred
- Experience working in detoxification and/or residential levels of care preferred
- Behavioral health certification or related education preferred
